Recently, there took place the winners awarding of the IX National Rating of Corporate Reputation Management Quality “Reputation ACTIVists”. The jury included Anna Altukhova, Editor-in-Chief of PaySpace Magazine (Retail category), and Iryna Bilotserkovets, PSM Project Manager (IT category). Read on to find out more about the awarding ceremony within the PRNext International Forum.

The winners of the “Reputational ACTIVists” National Rating were announced at the PRNext'24 International Forum

The rating jury, including 152 independent analysts, industry experts and specialized journalists from leading media outlets, identified those among 734 companies from various industries, whose owners, top management and PR teams have best adapted to the up-to-date challenges and have shown the best results of their reputation management system under a long-term military confrontation.

“The Ukrainian PR industry and specialists in reputation management and communications, under the pressure of unprecedented challenges for the profession`s functioning, business and transformations of public sentiment and stakeholder demands, have reached intellectual and professional leadership positions worldwide. Wartime challenges have become powerful drivers for the development of the PR industry and the culture of reputation management, building trust in society. Based on their own unique practical experience, the PR industry and reputation management specialists, having mastered the best international practices, began to create new ones on this foundation – their own. And the winners of the Corporate Reputation Management Quality Rating have demonstrated the best human and professional qualities - initiative, flexibility, creativity, efficiency and hard work,” commented on the results of the annual research Olena Derevyanko, Chairman of the PRNext Organizing Committee, Partner at PR-Service Agency, Vice President of the Ukrainian PR-League.

This year, the Organizing Committee of PRNext and the authors of the Corporate Reputation Management Quality Rating have adhered to the changes made earlier. In particular, this year, as in 2023, the list of winners in five functional categories was not published: “Reputational Stability”, “Media Activity”, “Innovative Approach”, “CSR Image Capital”, “and Crisis Resilience”. This is due to the fact that the assessment of industries that were most affected by the war or had almost completely ceased their operations is on hold. As a result, without strong representatives of certain industries and nominations, in some cases winning the functional nominations will not correctly reflect the real state of affairs and achievements.

In addition, the authors of the Rating have paused the evaluation of some categories and industries thus reflecting their specific situation during the war. Participants in the “Diversified Business Groups” nomination are often closely associated with a beneficiary's name or key underlying asset. However, war and destruction, sanctions and nationalization are rapidly changing the business landscape, the positions of such groups and their beneficiaries: some are disappearing or their future is becoming more uncertain, while others are looking for models of strategic survival in the new reality.

Participants in the “Airlines” sub-nomination of the “Transport and Logistics” industry are de facto idle due to the danger in the Ukrainian skies. The “Investment Companies” sub-nomination in the “Finance” industry is on hold, as the Ukrainian market for classic investments has frozen. For the “Metallurgy” and “Machine Building” industries, the most pressing issue is survival. “Auto Retailers” are also looking for new business models in the new environment. As soon as the evaluatees show signs of life, stabilization and structuring, they will return to the Rating. Perhaps they will reemerge in another shape.
